I was an adjunct instructor in the Digital Communications Department at Houston Community College until moving to Redmond, WA. I taught an array of graphic design, project management, web programming, and multimedia production classes. In addition to the college classroom I have conducted corporate workshops and one-on-one training.
PHP - Hypertext Preprocessor (ITSE 1306)
Includes the basics of PHP, design of web-based applications, arrays, strings, regular expressions, file I/O, e-mail and database interfaces, stream and network programming, debugging, and security.
2-D Animation with Flash 8 (ARTV 2301)
Skill development in the use of software to develop storyboards and two-dimensional animation including creating, importing, and sequencing media elements to create a complete professional multimedia presentation. Emphasis on conceptualization, creativity, and visual aesthetics.
Project Analysis and Design (IMED 2313)
Introduction to the planning process for multimedia or web including costing, preparation, production legal issues, and guidelines for pre-production preparation and creation of a comprehensive design document including target audience analysis, purpose and goals, objectives, content outline, flow chart, and storyboard.
Web Page Development (ITSC 1313) - Hand code xHTML/CSS
Instruction in the use of Internet services and the fundamentals of web page design and web site development. Identify basic Internet concepts and terminology; use electronic communication methods; collect and evaluate research data using the Internet; and design, create, organize, and publish web pages and sites.
Digital Imaging I (ARTC 1302) - Photoshop CS
In this course ARTC 1302, Digital Imaging 1 Photoshop CS for Macintosh and PC; students will concentrate their learning on image oriented graphics and design in a computerized Bit-mapped format, to include: image editing, color correction, photo-restoration, digital collage (compositing of multiple images), preparing and optimizing images for the Internet. The acquisition of digital images through scanning, imported graphics and photographs, photo CDs, and digital photography.
Introduction to Multimedia (IMED 1301)
A survey of theories, elements and hardware/software components of multimedia topics that includes: digital image editing, digital components of multimedia, sound and video editing, animation, web development and interactive presentations. The course emphasizes on conceptualizing, producing and developing effective multimedia presentations.
Basic Graphic Design (ARTC 1305)
A study of two-dimensional (2D) design with emphasis in the visual communication design process. Topics include basic terminology and graphic design principles.
